Ernie and Blanche Return

"Gee, it is great to be back home," thought Ernie as he looked out at his garden. A pang of guilt flooded through him as he remembered the loyal tenants that he had evicted. However, he was happy knowing that his wife Blanche would be arriving home very soon, as she had been in the hospital for the past few weeks.

Ernie was also expecting two other visitors; Dr Zoe and a live-in home-care nurse named Cassie. He was glad to see both of the health care workers arrive early.
As they engaged in some small talk, they heard the ambulance roll up. Ernie could hardly wait to see his beloved Blanche.
And even before the ambulance personnel were able to get Blanche out of the rig, Ernie jumped in and gave his wife a hug and a kiss. It was a very tender moment.
After getting Blanche settled comfortably in her home, Dr Zoe and Nurse Cassie stood on the porch and chatted for a while.

Dr Zoe told Nurse Cassie that she is currently renovating an old house into a doctor's office.
"Why only a doctor's office?" asked Nurse Cassie. "Why not go bigger and build a hospital? After all, you do know about the special funding that is available this year for doll hospitals, right?"
Special funding? Dr Zoe was intrigued.

After their conversation, Dr Zoe walked away in a dreamlike state with her eyes sparkling. "Imagine getting free money to build a hospital. . . ."

Moving Day

Kinsey and Kitty were now totally packed and ready for the movers to arrive.
As she waited by her piano, however, Kinsey had the most horrendous thought.

She had met with the moving man earlier in the week and she had told him that she had a piano to be moved. The man had assured her that it would be no problem, but now Kinsey imagined the worst.

Kitty, who was upstairs keeping an eye out for the moving van, suddenly exclaimed, "They are here!" breaking Kinsey out of her morbid thought.

Both girls went outside to meet them.

As the movers expertly backed the truck up to the house, Kinsey let out a gasp. For sitting on the back of the flatbed was none other than one of the guys who had helped move the piano into the house!
"I am so happy to see you!" exclaimed Kinsey to the muscly man.

"Ready for the big move?" asked the man in overalls. "Ready as I will ever be," replied Kinsey.

Kitty asked what the B&B stood for. The giant man standing behind them chuckled. "That is easy," he said. "It stands for 'Brains and Brawn'."

"They are the brains and I am the brawn," said the man flexing his powerful arms. Kinsey went weak in the knees. (Muscular, handsome men seem to have that affect on her.)

"It actually stands for Bill and Bob. We are twin brothers," said the man in the blue shirt.

"And I'm Bruce, bold and brave!" said the tall man. Everyone laughed.

The guys then got to work and began emptying the house. Much to Kinsey's delight, the piano went on the truck first. Bruce was able to pick up the heavy objects very easily.

Once the truck was loaded and secured, Kinsey paid them for their hard work. She also handed them a gift basket. "Thanks for all of your hard work," said Kinsey gratefully.

The boys said that they were really going to enjoy the gift.
Time to get the truck rolling.

Meet Kitty

This is Kitty, Kinsey's sister.

Kitty has been staying with Kinsey for the past few months.
Unfortunately, the owners Ernie and Blanche will be returning this month, and the day has come for them to move out. They have both been busy packing boxes.
Kinsey's belongings will be going into storage until her house is ready.
Packing up a household takes a lot of effort and is very tiring work!

"Only one last box to fill," said Kinsey.

After everything was boxed, taped and labeled, the two exhausted sisters sat on the couch staring into space.

"We deserve a fabulous holiday," exclaimed Kitty. "Sounds good to me," said Kinsey.

Eviction and Elation

Kinsey heard the familiar sound of the postman dropping mail into the mailbox. She peeked furtively from the second story window, checking that there were no neighbors out and about.
(Even though it was late Saturday afternoon, Kinsey was still in her pajamas.)

Seeing that the coast was clear, Kinsey went to get the mail.

There was a large yellow envelope addressed to both Kinsey and Isabelle. It was from their landlord. "Uh-oh," thought Kinsey. She immediately opened it up and read it.

It was not good news. Rather shocked, Kinsey sat down to re-read the letter.

It was from Ernie the landlord, giving her and Isabelle a thirty day notice to vacate the house.
It turns out that Ernie's wife Blanche has fallen gravely ill, and they need to return home. Ernie said that he is very sorry and that he feels terrible about evicting such great tenants.
Kinsey thought about it for a long time. Poor Blanche.

Kinsey was not sure what she was going to do, as her own house was not yet ready to be moved into. Suddenly the irony of a "Homeless Realtor" struck Kinsey as funny, and she let out a chuckle.
"Time to move, I think," said Kinsey. She was still deep in thought as she distractedly picked up the rest of the mail. Suddenly Kinsey recognized the handwriting of her sister Kitty on an envelope. She became excited and dropped the rest of the mail to read it.

Kinsey beamed with pleasure when Kitty's letter said that she was coming to visit. "That would be right," said Kinsey out loud. "The moment I become homeless, my family shows up."

Kinsey headed back inside to begin packing, quite forgetting that she had been outside in her pajamas.

Cheerio,
