Eviction and Elation

Kinsey heard the familiar sound of the postman dropping mail into the mailbox. She peeked furtively from the second story window, checking that there were no neighbors out and about.
(Even though it was late Saturday afternoon, Kinsey was still in her pajamas.)

Seeing that the coast was clear, Kinsey went to get the mail.

There was a large yellow envelope addressed to both Kinsey and Isabelle. It was from their landlord. "Uh-oh," thought Kinsey. She immediately opened it up and read it.

It was not good news. Rather shocked, Kinsey sat down to re-read the letter.

It was from Ernie the landlord, giving her and Isabelle a thirty day notice to vacate the house.
It turns out that Ernie's wife Blanche has fallen gravely ill, and they need to return home. Ernie said that he is very sorry and that he feels terrible about evicting such great tenants.
Kinsey thought about it for a long time. Poor Blanche.

Kinsey was not sure what she was going to do, as her own house was not yet ready to be moved into. Suddenly the irony of a "Homeless Realtor" struck Kinsey as funny, and she let out a chuckle.
"Time to move, I think," said Kinsey. She was still deep in thought as she distractedly picked up the rest of the mail. Suddenly Kinsey recognized the handwriting of her sister Kitty on an envelope. She became excited and dropped the rest of the mail to read it.

Kinsey beamed with pleasure when Kitty's letter said that she was coming to visit. "That would be right," said Kinsey out loud. "The moment I become homeless, my family shows up."

Kinsey headed back inside to begin packing, quite forgetting that she had been outside in her pajamas.

Bessie's House is Sold!

Kinsey leaned forward on her desk and sighed. It had been a really busy day.

Actually, it has been a really busy couple of weeks. "I am ready to retire," thought Kinsey.
Kinsey has been working around the clock as the dollhouses are being moved down to Willow Ridge. Even today, (on her day off), Kinsey was out showing a new client Bessie's old shop. A young entrepreneur named Hayley was very interested in the property.

But what really surprised Kinsey was the fact that she wanted all the vacant land next door.
Hayley said that she wants to open a caravan park, and if the surrounding acreage was not available then she would not be interested in buying this house.

Kinsey checked her listings and saw that the acreage was available. The two of them walked around the perimeter of the available land.
Kinsey also knew that this sale would incur a lot of extra paperwork.

They went back to the office to finish the transaction.

After signing all of the papers, Hayley could hardly believe that she was now the new owner. Her new business venture was about to begin!

After the keys had been handed over, Kinsey rested her head on the desk and promptly fell asleep.

Hazel's House (And a Feline Intruder) - Part Four

Well, I am still messing with Hazel's house.
I thought that some of the front panels were too thick, so I carved away some of the foil and styrofoam, and I have been covering the structure with newspaper.
You know, for every step I take forward, I always seem to take half a dozen steps back.
No wonder it takes me forever to get any crafting done!

Suddenly, I noticed a claw waving from the upper window.
Who is that?

It is my Nova. He really enjoys being up high, and the third story on this house fits him perfectly.

Hazel's House - Part Three

I have been adding texture by gluing stuff onto Hazel's house using my hot glue gun.

I got a nasty little burn.
-NOT from the glue gun, but  from COOKING!!!
I can handle a glue gun and a jigsaw, I just cannot handle a saucepan lid
Stupid thing just flipped in my hand and bit me.
WARNING - cooking is dangerous. (I think I should refrain from doing it.)

I made an interesting mess with the styrofoam and I have also enjoyed sculpting with foil.

Getting somewhere slowly.
